Student Responsibilities & Attitudes
DancEtc has the fundamental expectation that students treat each other, teachers, staff, and adults with kindness and respect. We look forward to creating a positive atmosphere for all of our students. Whether taking classes to develop self esteem, exercise, or train for a career in dance, students should be respectful and show appropriate behavior towards all dance family members while on the premises. If any problems occur, parents will be contacted and a solution will be discussed.
Student Arrival & Departure
Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our students. For this reason, we will not allow them to wait outside the facility during the arrival and departure. To ensure minor students are safe and supervised at all times, we ask that parents accompany them into the lobby and, if arriving early wait with them until class begins. When picking up we ask that you come a few minutes before the end of class and wait for their child inside the lobby. If a teacher has to wait with the children after class there will be a ten dollar fee for every 10 minutes to cover their time.
Communications
DancEtc strives to keep communication open between teachers, students, and parents. In order to promote this, we publish a monthly newsletter, which is in the pick up box at the beginning of every month. The director and teachers are available by appointment as to not interrupt class time to meet with any parent and dancer. Please make all appointments at the desk.
Dress Code
Tip Toe Tots: pink leotard, tights, & ballet shoes. Hair pulled back out of face
Mini’s: lavender leotard, pink or tan tights, pink ballet shoes, and tan tap shoes. Hair pulled back out of face.
Primary: Burgundy leotard, pink or tan tights, pink ballet shoes, and tan tap shoes. Hair pulled back out of face.
All level and graded ballet classes must have black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black character shoes, & RAD Skirt. Hair must be in a bun and bangs pinned back.
Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Jumps & Turns, Tumbling, Modern classes may wear leotards, hot shorts, and tight fitted shirts. Must have dance shoe teacher prefers. Must have hair pulled back out of face.
Tap classes may wear tight fitted clothing and feet must be visible. Black tap shoes are required. Hair must be pulled back out of face.
Hip Hop & Cardio Barre classes may wear baggy comfortable clothing. Sneakers or hip hop shoes require. Hair must be pulled out of face.
Absences
Reinforcing the work each week goes a long way in improving a student’s skill. During each dance season students work on a choreographed dance to be performed at the year end Student Concert. Students enjoy a great sense of pride and accomplishment through hard work and dedication. Our goal is to see each student improve his or her performance and technical skills throughout the year.
Make Up Classes
If a student misses a class they may make up a class in the same style. It must be made up in the same level or below. Please let the teacher know when you have made up a class. If DancEtc must cancel a class due to teacher illness a make up class will be scheduled or a class credit will be given.
Tardiness
Tardiness disrupts the entire class. If a student is 5 minutes late to class they will be asked to sit and watch, as injury can occur if not properly warmed up. No exceptions will be made.
Withdrawal from Classes
If a student must withdraw from DancEtc, we request notice in writing from parent or guardian. Telephone withdrawals are not permitted. Students withdrawing from class will have advance payment refunded in the form of a check, with the exception of the month in progress. Any and all costume & show payments, team payments, and registration payments will not be refunded. If dropping a class mid month you will not be prorated.
Returned Checks
There will be a $30 charge for checks returned for any reason. If writing a check we reserve the right to electronically debit the check writers bank account for the face value of the check plus applicable fees if the check is returned non-sufficient funds (“NSF”) or uncollected funds.
Year End Concert Fees
There is a fee of $10 for one dancer, $15 for two dancers, and $20 for three dancers in the same family to participate in the year end show. We had to start this fee due to the increased rental fees through the county and increased award cost. This fee will be billed out in March and due March 10.
Registration Fees
There is a $15 registration fee per dancer due upon registration.
Monthly Tuition
All payments are due by the 10 of each month. A late fee of $15 will be posted to any account if the payment is not in on the 10. We do accept phone payments. Any account past due 3 months will result in your child not participating in class. Any account over 90 days past due will be turned over to a collection agency. All accounts must be paid in full in order for your child to participate in the Student Concert. Any bounced check will result in payments only being excepted in the form of cash, credit card, or cashiers check. Bills must be picked up in the studio. All bills will be ready by the first of each month. No refunds on tuition – No Exceptions!
Costume Payment
If your child will not be participating in our end of the year concert we must have a signed note from the parent or guardian by October 1 to avoid the charges.
ALL COSTUME PAYMENTS ARE DUE BY NOVEMBER 10. You may make monthly payments on them early if you wish to do so as long as the balance is paid off by November 10. We have moved the date up a month, so costly payments are not due during the Christmas season. Non payment will result in no costume being ordered. No Refunds on costumes. No Exceptions.

Level 3 & Up (includes all graded ballet) $79.50 per dance
DancEtc is going GREEN all invoices & statements will be provided through email. In the event a statement must be mailed due to non payment a $4.00 charge will be assesed to the account.
